So, what is a Pwnagotchi? It’s your ethical hacking companion with a twist as it is also a virtual pet! Powered by a Raspberry Pi, the Pwnagotchi learns as it explores networks, performing tasks like recon and handshake capture, all while you nurture it. On the screen, its expressive face changes smiling when it’s thriving, or showing curiosity when it’s learning. Each expression reflects what it’s doing, from capturing handshakes to connecting with its local friends. It’s a blend of fun, learning, and engagement, all in one device!

The Pwnagotchi is a virtual pet inspired by the classic Tamagotchi which is an original Japanese toy designed to let you care for and interact with a digital companion. Much like its predecessor, the Pwnagotchi evolves based on your attention. It grows, expresses emotions on its screen, and 'feels' more alive as you help it navigate ethical hacking adventures. It also leverages machine learning, enabling the Pwnagotchi to adapt and navigate networks more effectively and efficiently, making each interaction smarter and more rewarding over time.

The picture below illustrates the Pwnagotchi's display, showing information in real time. From the evolving pet face which is reflecting its status, to network stats like handshakes as well as uptime, each element guides you on what the Pwnagotchi is doing.

Two case options are available, both containing internal batteries that last up to 7 hours. Case one uses up to 16 screws, includes a battery and a data port for easy access without disassembly, and features a clip for keyrings or lanyards. Case two is a cleaner, slimmer design, requiring only 12 screws. Its faceplate uses a clip-on mechanism around the display, securing onto the Raspberry Pi Zero, offering a sleek, screw-free front while keeping everything firmly in place.
